We hear a lot about people talking about French restaurants, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Italian restaurants, Japanese restaurants,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and of course Thai restaurants <\/p>\n\n\n\n

but it\u2019s quite rare that you hear about New Zealand restaurants. Or not?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I must confess that I did not know much about New Zealand food <\/p>\n\n\n\n

until I came across a restaurant called KAI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, I would like to talk about the one and only one <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Zealand Restaurant called KAI<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was told that KAI means \u201cMaori dishes\u201d in their local language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Zealand, together with Australia, has a lot of immigrants from England<\/p>\n\n\n\n

therefore their cooking has its roots in England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The famous one is Fish & Chips. Right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this Kai, Fish & Chips is also one of their specialty dish <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and they pronounce it Fush & Chups<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on white fish, there are 4 ways (Battered, Crumbed<\/span>, Pan-Fried<\/span>, Tinfoil-Steamed) of preparing the dish. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can choose chips from 3 different preparation way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

which are Hand Cut Fries (Skin On), NZ Chips Standard Cut, <\/span>NZ Chips Thick Cut.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Zealand is an island country surrounded by the sea and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

therefore they have plenty of fish of course,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but also it\u2019s an agricultural country with a thriving dairy and livestock industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The country is also known for many producers being environment friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is good fun just to look at the menu too as it mentions the preparation way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite food is mussels and here at KAI,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

they steam boil them in a New Zealander beer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They taste very nice and quite different taste from the ones cooked in butter sauce or white wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weekdays are filled with people coming back from work and on the weekends, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

family and dating couple can be spotted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is always full with happy diners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many service staffs and they are very fast with their service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But if you are looking to dine in a nice and moody restaurant,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

this may not be the place but if you want to fill your tummy with good food,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or want to have a jolly good time with family and friends, this is the place you must try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
