‘Shantaa Resort’ <\/a><\/span><\/span>is in Koh Kood,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trat Province, Thailand\u2019s East coast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the 6th<\/sup> largest island in the country.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detailed Journey: From Bangkok to Koh Kood, Trat Province<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. By car:<\/strong> 340 kilometers from Bangkok to Laem Sok Pier, Trat Province, or about 5 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. By bus:<\/strong> Take the bus at Ekkamai Bus Terminal (Close to BTS Ekkamai). Travel duration may be slightly longer than travelling by car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. By plane: <\/strong>Only one airline available which is Bangkok Airways, landing at Trat Airport then drive to the pier.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Experience: Ferry Crossing from Laem Sok Pier to Koh Kood<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When we arrive at Trat province, we head to Laem Sok Pier to take a ferry to Koh Kood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 3 ferry operators to cross Koh Kood from Laem Sok Pier<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Ko Kood Express (https:\/\/www.kokutexpress.in.th\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Boonsiri (https:\/\/boonsiriferry.com\/en<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Koh Kood Princess (http:\/\/www.kohkoodprincess.com\/en\/index.php<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I booked a fast ferry from \u2018Koh Kood Express\u2019 operator, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

which took approximately 1.15 hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ticket costs 400 baht for a one-way trip per person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should book ferry tickets online in advance <\/p>\n\n\n\n

because seats might be fully booked during weekends or holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boat operators also provide parking lots for those who travel by car. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parking space cost 50 baht per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took this ferry, which can accommodate up to 300 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The large ferry will only stop at Ao Salad Pier <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(except for speed boats that can stop at other smaller piers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After docking and passengers get of the ferry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be many minibuses park around the pier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The staff will ask to which resort we are going <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and will tell the number of the minibus that will take us to the resort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We took the minibus as provided number to continue our journey until reaching Shantaa Resort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(No additional cost here because it was already included in the ferry fee)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distance from Ao Salad to Shaanta Resort is 10.7 kilometers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took me approximately 20 minutes on the minibus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a long journey before reaching the destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the road in Koh Kood, there are lots of trees with houses <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and locally owned small shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locals oppose 7-Eleven coming into the area <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we arrived at Shantaa Resort<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entrance looked clean and beautiful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a path with bamboo tunnel, providing shady walkway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was already excited!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shantaa Resort provides a range of small and big houses that is far apart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a small number of houses so it’s quite peaceful, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

not chaotic and we can enjoy full privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I traveled with children during weekdays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are few occupants, so the resort upgraded our accommodation to a villa on the hill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We got to have a stunning viewpoint, which was impressive!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s see the room now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the outside this house looks ordinary, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

but in fact, there is something extraordinary hidden inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from inside the room, there is a large and clean double bed with all standard amenities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there is no \u2018television,\u2019 which the resort has informed us before booking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(I think that they would encourage customers to appreciate the nature).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw the bathroom and said \u201cWow.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resort brings nature in the bathroom design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can take a bath with the sound of birds and insects, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

that\u2019s awesome! If you use the bathroom at night, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

it can be a little scary because it\u2019s wide open, dark with shadows from tall trees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s safe, but I am just worrying too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The view from the balcony of this house is breathtaking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I give a perfect 10! The view is so beautiful that I want to take leave and stay here for a month, haha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
