Permanen&#8230;<\/span>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve applied for my permanent residency here in Thailand in July 2011 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and I was granted with the status in July 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I was happy because \u201cI thought all the works for acquiring the permanent residency are over\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>but on the contrary, there are 4 procedures that I still had to go through, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>which I didn\u2019t know about, and I almost missed to do them.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, I would today like to share with you the 4 procedures that <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you need to go through after granted with the permanent residency.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4 procedures required after obtaining Thai permanent residency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It was on 18<sup>th<\/sup> June 2015 that I, all of the sudden, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>received a letter mentioning that my \u201cpermanent residency status was granted\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-medium wp-image-100\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-01_Letter_Immgration_18JUN2015.webp\" alt=\"Letter of Permit for Permanent Residence in the Kingdom of Thailand\" class=\"wp-image-5710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-01_Letter_Immgration_18JUN2015.webp 724w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-01_Letter_Immgration_18JUN2015-212x300.webp 212w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The letter mentioning \u201cWe hereby accept your permanent residency\u201d.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:44px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>1 month after the reception of the notice letter, you will receive official letter of acceptance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The date for the arrival of this official letter is unknown but you will receive an order to come again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So the only thing you can do is to visit the immigration bureau.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Thought that my payment of the fee for processing was the last thing <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had to clear but it wasn\u2019t the case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn\u2019t know that there follows <span class=\"swl-marker mark_yellow\">4 other procedures<\/span> that I had to go through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are 4 necessary steps that you must follow <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>after you\u2019ve been granted with the permanent residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1. Obtaining Permanent Resident Status at the Immigration Bureau<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will receive a letter notifying you that your permanent residency was accepted <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>but you will also receive required document and requirements with the letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As the procedure at the Immigration Bureau is a month after (you will receive 2<sup>nd<\/sup> notice) the reception of the letter, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you will have enough time to prepare the document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything except photo is the same as those you\u2019ve already submitted <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>for the application of the permanent residence status. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Will differ depending on the category of application.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Documents to be submitted are as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">1. Original passport and a copy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">2. Original work permit and a copy (when applied under the Business category)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">3. Marriage certificate (to prove that you are family) \u2013 Family register in my case<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had to submit it as I applied under the Spouse status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve also submitted at the time of application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marriage certificate, in my case, is the family register in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get &#8220;Certificate of Family Register Matters (English)&#8221; at the Japanese embassy in Thailand, &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and then translate it into Thai yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, in order to prove that the family register in Thai is correct, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you will have to go to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and have it authenticated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">4. Original and copy of residence certificate (Thabiyanbaan)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Required for Spousal status application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Not required for business applications)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, I submitted my husband Thabiyanbaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">5. Photos (12 sets)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit 12 4 x 6 cm photographs taken within the last 3 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:39px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">6. Fee payment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit the above documents 1 to 5 to the Immigration Bureau, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and after the documents are confirmed, payment to be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>191,400 baht for business application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Family application (spouse, children, parents), 95,700 baht in cash to be paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I paid 95,700 baht for my Spouse application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After this, a Certificate of permanent residence will be issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, it will be issued on a different day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-medium wp-image-83\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/316040099_859366921771203_8885817751157801336_n.jpg\" alt=\"Thai Permanent Residency\" class=\"wp-image-4197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/316040099_859366921771203_8885817751157801336_n.jpg 800w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/316040099_859366921771203_8885817751157801336_n-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/316040099_859366921771203_8885817751157801336_n-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/316040099_859366921771203_8885817751157801336_n-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">My permanent residence.&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When the permanent residency is issued, a<span class=\"swl-marker mark_green\"> &#8220;Letter to the Police Station&#8221; <\/span>will be issued together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 2 starts from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2. Alien registration at the police station<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After paying the fee for receiving the permanent residency at the immigration office <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and received the permanent residency booklet, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you must complete the <span class=\"swl-marker mark_blue\">alien registration at the police station within one week<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Take the letter issued by the Immigration Bureau to the police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police station, it will be the police station that has jurisdiction over the address <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>where the resident registration (Thabiyanbaan) is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, I was in Yannawa District in Bangkok, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>so I went to the police station that has jurisdiction over Yannawa District (Bang Phong Phan Police Station).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Fingerprints will be taken at the police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sign the papers presented by the police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alien registration booklet will be issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Alien registration booklet is valid for 1 year, but they will issue them for up to 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mine was published as 1 year + 5 years and was renewed in July 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-medium wp-image-82\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/02_493228848389740_8893106779698176732_n-768x1024-1.webp\" alt=\"My alien registration booklet.\" class=\"wp-image-5700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/02_493228848389740_8893106779698176732_n-768x1024-1.webp 768w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/02_493228848389740_8893106779698176732_n-768x1024-1-225x300.webp 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">My alien registration booklet.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:63px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_info\">Renewal procedure (21 June 2021)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it will expire on July 10, 2021, I thought it would be better to apply for renewal earlier <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>so I went to the police station where I registered as an alien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was at Bang Phong Phang Police Station at Soi 3 Sathorn Road (commonly known as Suan Phlu Road).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-medium wp-image-504\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-04_498422061426654_4253710701450662019_n.jpg\" alt=\"It is Bang Phong Phang Police Station on Suan-plu Rd. This police station is co-located with the Thum Maha Mek police station.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I took my alien registration booklet, permanent residency, and passport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No other documents necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Filled in the form at the police station which will be done by officer in charge for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The alien registration booklet that I took with me was stamped and renewed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That was it. Finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost was 800THB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3. Go to the ward office and register as a resident.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With in 7 days, with my alien registration booklet issued by the police station, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>went to the ward office where my husband is registered as a resident (Thabiyanbaan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case it was the Yannawa Ward Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Took my husband, who is the owner of Tabiyanbaan, with me to process the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the registration is within the Bangkok metropolitan it is easy but, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>if you are registered in the other province, you need to go there to do this which is a bit of a hustle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Necessary documents are as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">1. Applicant\u2019s (my) passport, alien registration booklet, <br>permanent residence permit, and work permit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">2. Thabiyanbaan owner\u2019s (my husband) passport,&nbsp; <br>Thabiyanbaan, permanent residency permit, <br>alien registration booklet, and work permit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">3. 6 sets of photos (applicant = myself)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:39px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-icon_pen\">4. Thai witness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did not know that I needed a witness until I went to Yannawa Ward Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I asked my company driver who drove me there to be one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It is to double check, so I understood, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>that if the Thai language I wrote on the document was correct or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought that it would be finished after going through the procedures of this district office, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>but all these documents will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, checked again, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and returned to the Yannawa Ward office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be told that it will be \u201c1 month later\u201d until you will get it back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After a month, the three of us (myself, my husband, and the witness = the driver) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>went to the Yannawa Ward Office again, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>where names were added to the Tabiyanbaan, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the originals were returned, and registration with the Tabiyanbaan was completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Rewritten the visa at the same time without waiting for the return of Tabiyanbaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4. Rewriting visa (change to Non-Quota Immigrant Visa)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The visa I had previously was a Non-Immigrant B visa (commonly known as a business visa) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>for the purpose of working, and it was a visa with company support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After applied for permanent residency in 2011, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>it was stamped as &#8220;applying&#8221;, and in June 2015, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I obtained permanent residency after completed steps 1 to 3 above, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>my the visa category will finally be rewritten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are granted with permanent residency, you will get a Non-Quota Immigrant Visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\" id=\"attachment_106\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"828\" height=\"621\" src=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-05_968442930592496_7688523584484891191_n.webp\" alt=\"Permanent Residence Permit of the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Residence Permit stamp in passport\" class=\"wp-image-5713\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-05_968442930592496_7688523584484891191_n.webp 828w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-05_968442930592496_7688523584484891191_n-300x225.webp 300w, https:\/\/thailand-real-review.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/permanent-residence\/4-05_968442930592496_7688523584484891191_n-768x576.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 828px) 100vw, 828px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The left is the endorsement of the visa that is stamped on the permanent residence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The right is the visa stamped in the passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are linked to each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-big_icon_caution\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>When leaving Thailand, if you do not leave the country with the booklet of permanent residency, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>it will expire. (Expiration = reapplication for permanent residency)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As shown in the photo above, both permanent residency and passports are stamped <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>when leaving or entering the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve received the following explanation from the Immigration Bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-big_icon_check\">It is valid for 1 year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-big_icon_check\">Renewal is basically annually.
