Today, let me talk about a French restaurant that I often dine at.
Its mouthwatering good place but I am not really willing to tell
about this wonderful restaurant to too many people.
That’s because when I come there to eat,
I don’t put my makeups on,
and dressed as if I go just around the corner to fetch something.
But ok my dear readers; it’s your lucky day today!
They serve such a good foods and I think it is a sin not to tell you about it.
a Japanese person visit the most is not a Japanese restaurant
but a French restaurant -Cagette Canteen & Deli
It happens to be very near to where we live and we go
there at least once a week if not twice.
Even during the No-Dine-In time because of COVID, we ordered delivery.
The restaurant carries “Canteen & Deli” with its name meaning
really gives us the feeling that they are just a step away.
Actually, the foods are quite affordable for everyday use
and the kind of taste and flavoring that you won’t get tired of.
When we say a French Cuisine,
we tend to image the Palace of Versailles type of nobleman’s dish however,
if you ask me, I think this place is priced for daily use
and foods that you would like to have every day.
Flavoring is very simple but I think that the chef is quite particular
about his salt and has a lot of different kind of salts in his kitchen.
I think that many of the restaurants in Thailand
tend to appeal the saltiness flavor of their food,
but this restaurant uses the right amount of salt
just to bring out the taste of the ingredient.
The seasoning technique that the restaurant
has really let the taste of seasonal ingredient standout well.
I have never been to France yet
but through the wonderful dishes served here in Cagette,
I can see what kind of season they are in right now.
We also have seasonal ingredients in Japan and just like in Japan,
“White Shrimp” is also in season in France around December period,
And they say that… At the end of the month of March,
“White Asparagus” is in season.
Good food makes you feel happy. Doesn’t it?
The restaurant also has its day promotion menu
“plat du jour”
that makes people comeback for.
For an example, a Tuesday you get oyster deal of Buy 2 Get 1 Free.
A Thursday is a cheese night.
And most famous and favorite of all is the Sunday Brunch.
It is so popular that you can’t even make a reservation.
I like to enjoy small amount from about 2-3 dishes
slowly to let my wonderful evening last long.
And, the staffs of the restaurant have a good memory and remember
the taste and dining pace of their customers.
I am not too crazy about spicy foods but without asking
they come out from the kitchen just the way I like it.
The fact that they remember the way we like it.
This is may be the reason why I like this place, Cagette.
It may be a bit of a walk if you didn’t drive a car
but I personally think it is worth a walk.
