Hello, everyone I am Chifumi Maeda, a Japanese female president living in Bangkok.
Thank you, guys, for visiting this
“True comments from Japanese female presidents living in Thailand” blog.
I will today talk about my favorite restaurant “The Verandah” at Mandarin Oriental.
Experience Casual Riverside Dining at The Verandah, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
Mandarin Oriental is very famous luxury hotel known as the “Hotel of Hotel”,
and is the No.1 hotel in Bangkok.

The restaurants in the hotel, Le Normandie where they carry 2 Michelin Stars and
Lord Jim’s where mainly serves seafood.
Japanese restaurant TAKAKI and others… are basically the high-class restaurants.
But among them, there is a restaurant where you can just walk in
and have a meal and casual dress code is accepted,
and friendly to your wallet, and most of all, the meals that they serve is very good.
The Verandah restaurant that is.
There are seats inside and outside of the restaurant and if you are a hotel guest,
they serve your breakfasts there at the restaurant.
The inside tables are in air conditioned room therefore there are many people in the daytime.
It is rather cool there in the morning and during the dry season
and therefore many people sit at the outside table.
Breakfast with view over the flowing river.
And in the evening, you can enjoy the twilight time.
I like to sit there in the evening and watch the sunset as the sun sinks minute by minute.
The menu is mainly consists from western and Thai foods.
The amount per dish is quite a volume
therefore I share a salad and order a main dish with my hubby.
I come here often for my lunch and dinner.
I cannot afford to stay at the Mandarin Oriental that often
and the hotel is not that easy to walk in just like that….
It’s also not that often that you dine at a Michelin Star restaurant….
But like the atmosphere at the Mandarin Oriental….
Then this is the place for you.
They are inviting casual diners therefore the place is a bit lively compared to a Stared restaurant,
but you can definitely enjoy the atmosphere of the Mandarin and it does have a good atmosphere.
And most importantly, the foods they serve there are very good.
I strongly recommend you to dine there.
