Hello, everyone I am Chifumi Maeda,
a Japanese female president living in Bangkok.
Thank you, guys, for visiting this
“True comments from Japanese female presidents living in Thailand” blog
The other day, we celebrated our wedding anniversary and my birthday
which happen to fall on the very same day.
We often travel on our anniversaries, and last year we went to Japan.
As we didn’t have time to travel on leisurely this year,
we’ve decided to celebrate the occasion in Bangkok
by staying at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Hotel.
I am an IHG member and had accumulated stay points,
and since the points expiration date was approaching,
I’ve decided to use the free night award.
However, since there are not many room categories
to choose from with the free night award,
I’ve directly contacted the hotel in advance
and asked for an upgrade to a suite, which I will be paying for.
There was a problem at check-in,
and I thought about canceling my stay and going home,
but the Duty Manager was kind and helpful,
and thanks to him we were able to relax and enjoy the stay.

Innovative Elegance: The Distinctive Appeal of Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok
The term MAA-LAI, pronounced ‘maa-lai’,
is inspired by the traditional artistry of Thailand and means ‘delicacy’.
This delicacy and creativity is particularly evident in the heart of Thai art,
the creation of floral garlands.
Each space in the Kimpton is meticulously curated down to the smallest detail,
inviting guests to share in the extraordinary experience the hotel has to offer.
The hotel is located in the heart of Bangkok,
surrounded by the lush green Lumphini Park.

and is harmonizes modern city life with nature.
A perfect blend of traditional Thai atmosphere and Bangkok’s modern lifestyle.

At the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, various amenities
and facilities are available to cater to guests’ needs and preferences.
These offerings include:
Party Spaces: The hotel offers stylish and trendy party spaces.
Bars: Multiple bars are scattered throughout the hotel,
is a coffee hub, cocktail bar, and craft beer center.
It provides both indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful garden views.
Italian-style bar and restaurant on the hotel’s L floor,
designed in a modern chic style.
On this stay, we had my and our anniversary dinner at this restaurant.
The lighting was neither too bright nor too dark,
the atmosphere was cosy, and of course the food was delicious,
making us want to come back again.
A restaurant concept called Grocerant, located on the 5th floor,
combines groceries and a restaurant. It offers fresh
and diverse ingredients sourced directly from the fields to the kitchen.
I once introduced Sunday brunch which is held at this restaurant.
This rooftop bar is located on the 40th-floor sky deck,
providing stunning views.
Additionally, the hotel offers spa services, a gym, a swimming pool,
and more for relaxation and recreation. What’s more,

There are many attractive facilities,
but since the room was comfortable and we were there only for one night,
we spent relaxing time in our room.
Now, I would like to talk about the Executive Suite,
which is the main theme of this article.
The Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Experience: Luxury Accommodation Redefined
Discovering the Best Room for Your Stay at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok
Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has 362 guest rooms, including residences.
The rooms are divided into the following nine categories.
Studio type Essential Room and Premium Room.
It is divided into suites with one or more bedrooms and a dining area.
This time, we stayed in the Executive Suite.
Room Amenities at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok: Beyond the Basics
Basically, all room categories have the same amenities.
Bath amenities are from HARNN, a proud spa brand from Thailand.
Actually, the reason we chose Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok this time was
because the bathroom amenities were specially created for Kimpton Maa-Lai.
I was wondering what kind of scent it would have.
It has an exotic scent with a hint of spiciness,
which made my shower time very enjoyable.
The bathrobe is designed by Christian Develter and features bold colors.
Although the artist is an artist based in Belgium,
the artist has also held solo exhibitions in Thailand.
There is a gym and pool on the third floor,
but on the day we’ve stayed, there were many guests
so we didn’t use the facility,
but as the room was equipped with a yoga mat,
so we used this mat to do some floor training to refresh ourselves.
The Executive Suite we’ve stayed this time had a bar counter
and it was very easy to prepare coffee and tea.
The coffee was Nespresso.
Yeah, what else?
Executive Suite at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok: A Personal Stay Review
This time, we’ve stayed in the Executive Suite for just one night.
We had told the hotel in advance that it was our wedding anniversary…
So the bed was nicely decorated.
I think that this kind of hospitality in Thailand is so very wonderful.
The room is divided into a living room and a bedroom,
and the bedroom has a door,
so we were able to fall asleep in a fairly quiet environment.
The room we’ve stayed was facing east,
but as the blackout curtains were so tight that
we slept so soundly that we didn’t even notice when the sun came up.
The greenery spread out below us which made us feel very refreshing,
probably because we are used to seeing buildings.
The entire room is made modern and functional.
The chic colors are soothing.
It gives a very open feeling with high ceilings and large windows.
During our stay,
I used this dining table to participate in online meetings and doing writing works.
I often spent a lot of time at this dining table,
and it has come in quite handy.
The Executive Suite is quite spacious,
but the bathroom was even more luxuriously spacy.
A bright space with natural light and a white theme.
A large mirror in the window that stretches all the way to the ceiling.
The luggage area is spacy occupying a large space
and there is enough storage space even for long stay,
so you won’t have any problems.
The shower has a rain shower and a hand shower,
and there is no problem with the amount of water.
The bathtub was quite wide and deep,
and the hot water flowed well filled up the tub in no time.
The double sink was also very convenient.
It’s hard to tell in the photo,
but the door is a mirror door that you can see your whole body,
so it was useful as a full-length mirror.
I laid out my yoga mat here and checked my training poses.
Although it wasn’t the original way to use a mirror,
it was really nice to have a mirror that reflected my whole body.
As the room was functional and had chic colors,
we were able to spend a relaxing time in the room.
I think it’s a nice room that you won’t get tired of even if you stay for a long time.
We were able to enjoy a completely different scenery just a few kilometers from home,
and we were able to spend a wonderful anniversary.
